The olde worlde exterior belies the light and airy interior with its high ceilings and big windows. French windows lead into a large, sheltered courtyard garden which is a real suntrap from late Spring to early Autumn. ![]() ![]() Gordon and Kate Sutherland took on the tenancy of Moreton Tearooms in March 2009 and achieved Taste of Dorset Best Tearoom in the summer of that year. Since then we have retained the title not once but twice! We pride ourselves in creating our entire menu on site - from our Potted Portland Crab to our home-baked cakes. Gordon cooks with a simple and rustic style where the freshness and quality of the ingredients is key. In the summer months, it is not uncommon for our little bakery to bake and sell 150 scones in a day. Local produce is foremost in our ethos comprising salad from Woodsford Leaves which we supplement with little edible flower and herbs from our friend's kitchen garden; fruit and vegetables from our neighbours when in season; and the wealth of meat, game and fish readily available from the surrounding countryside. ![]() Read a review of the Tearooms from The Dorset Echo Read article from Blackmore Vale Magazine December 2010 |
